The "Queen of the Links" Cup
Is A Season Long Competition Recognizing
Participation AND Performance.

NEW FOR 2010

So that players who miss some weeks are not disadvantaged as much AND to keep more players in contention down to the wire, we are taking a page from other "Cup" competitions.

In 2010 BONUS POINTS will be awarded at least once a month and for ALL Majors:

  • All Monthly Ace of Aces Qualifiers will be worth 50% more .
  • All Major Tournaments will be worth 100% more.
  • The last three weeks of the season ALL BEING MAJORS will be the point equivalent of six regular weeks.

Playing well when it counts most will be key to your success.

The Same as last Year

Points are awarded weekly based on each player's net score against the rest of the field AND the number of players.

Each week:

  • The Low Net Golfer wins MAX Points (100, 150 or 200) * (Counting ALL 18 holes no matter the weekly contest).
  • Other Players win points relative to their Field Rank and the total number of golfers. *
  • Each Player is awarded at least 20 points.
( * Subject to ties. Field Rank and thus points are averaged for all ties.)

A brief explanation assuming Max Points = 100:
  • The Point Value for a week is 100 points divided by total participants.
    • Example 1 - 20 players: 100 points/20 players = 5.00 Point Value
    • Example 2 - 25 players: 100 points/25 players = 4.00 Point Value
    • Example 3 - 30 players: 100 points/30 players = 3.33 Point Value
  • 1st Place Low net in the tournament is awarded 100 points (unless a tie)
  • 2nd Place points are awarded as follows (using the above examples):
    • Example 1 - 20 players second place: 100 - 5.00 = 95 points
    • Example 2 - 25 players second place: 100 - 4.00 = 96 points
    • Example 3 - 30 players second place: 100 – 3.33 = 96.67 points
  • 3rd Place points are awarded as follows (using the above examples):
    • Example 1 - 20 players third place: 95 - 5 = 90 points
    • Example 2 - 25 players third place: 96 - 4 = 92 points
    • Example 3 - 30 players third place: 96.67 – 3.33 = 93.34 points
  • And so on ... place by place ... down to a minimum of 20 points for each player.
