New for 2009 is a season long contest recognizing
Participation AND Performance.

To be THE 2009 "Queen of the Links" - Play often and play well!

The Running Point Tally will be updated weekly on this website.

The member with the most points at season's end will be crowned our
"QUEEN OF THE LINKS".

Of course, all members will be required to bow to "THE QUEEN" for at least a year.
As "Survivor" host Jeff Probst would say: "Worth playing for?"

(Janice, please budget a few hundred dollars for a nice crown.
One that won't fall off on a windy day out on the course.)

Details, details, details ....

Points will be awarded based on each player's low net score against the rest of the field AND the total number of participants that week.

Each week:

  • The Low Net Golfer (Counting ALL 18 holes regardless of the weekly contest) wins 100 points.
  • The rest of the field wins points relative to their finish and the total number of golfers.
  • Each participant is awarded at least 20 points.
A brief explanation:
  • The point scale for each week is determined by 100 points divided by total participants that week.
    • Example 1 ~ 20 players: 100 points/20 players = 5.00 point scale
    • Example 2 ~ 25 players: 100 points/25 players = 4.00 point scale
    • Example 3 ~ 30 players: 100 points/30 players = 3.33 point scale
  • 1st Place Low net in each tournament is always awarded 100 points
  • 2nd Place points are awarded as follows (using above examples):
    • Example 1 ~ 20 players second place: 100 - 5.00 = 95 points
    • Example 2 ~ 25 players second place: 100 - 4.00 = 96 points
    • Example 3 ~ 30 players second place: 100 – 3.33 = 96.67 points
  • 3rd Place points are awarded as follows (using above examples):
    • Example 1 ~ 20 players third place: 95 - 5 = 90 points
    • Example 2 ~ 25 players third place: 96 - 4 = 92 points
    • Example 3 ~ 30 players third place: 96.67 – 3.33 = 93.34 points
  • And so on ... place by place ... down to at least 20 points for each participant.
